About the AA U11 Airdrie Lightning

Welcome to the dynamic world of the AA Program within the Airdrie Elite Hockey Committee, where young athletes aged 9 to 17 discover their potential on the ice while building a foundation for lifelong success. Our AA teams—compete in the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL) at the AA level—offering a perfect blend of competitive edge and developmental focus. We’re not chasing glory alone; we’re nurturing well-rounded players who thrive in every arena of life.

Within the Airdrie Elite Hockey Committee, the AA Program emphasizes skill mastery through progressive training. Our certified coaches, many with backgrounds in higher-level play, design sessions that sharpen fundamentals all while keeping fun at the forefront. Practices incorporate innovative drills, video analysis, and guest sessions from skills coaches ensuring players evolve to the next step in their hockey journeys. In the 2024-25 season, our AA squads notched impressive league finishes, with several players advancing to AAA and earning all-star nods.
